432 Stairs, Oh My God!

For about two years ago, I had an unfoergettable vacation with my friends in Central Java. We visited Sunan Muria tomb at Colo Village in Kudus City. It was one of my school programs, a religion vacation. We left in the early morning from our school. It was very pleasant vacation too because I could have visited another part of Java and also it was the first time for me to have a chance like that.

My imagery about that place for the first time was just like another another Sunan tomb. It was located on the ground that  is surrounded by a big and  beautiful gate and sometimes we can see the tomb itself there. But i was wrong. Sunan Muria located on the MuriaMountain and it was hidden in a small wooden closed room so that we cannot see the tomb clearly. People who visited there usually used some motorcycles that already have procided as a public transportation to go up in Muria Mountain. It was the one and only transportation there.

Unfortunately, my friends and I were forbidden to use that public transportation with my teacher. One of them said that we had to have a new experience and new energy because of it. My friends and I walked up on 432 stairs in several hours. Along the way there washundreds of store in the left side and right side, so  that we can drop in one of store to take a rest for a moment and continue our journey then. It was tiring for us and a very long trip too.

Joglo on EW XIX

On the October 28th, Joglo became a very crowded place. It was fulfilled by English students who were wearing a variety of costume even though other students from different majors are permitted to participate into that event too. Besides, Joglo was quiet huge place so it was not becoming a matter if the place could not accommodate amount of students in a Language and Art Faculty.
The atmosphere of Joglo was very attractive at that time. Many English department students gathered, yelled and enlivened the program of HMJ English department that was English Week XIX. They wore some kinds of British fashion vintage in 60s until 90s such as a bowtie tie which was adhered around a student’s collar and a cowboy hat that seemed like a people who lived in a far away land like Texas. There were several competitions too that held in Joglo. Those are storytelling, news casting, alliance quest, debate competition and speech competition
Before students came to Joglo, they had to pass an alley that already had given a long red carpet by the committee. After that, the photographers took some pictures of them in front of English Week background to document the event and to look for the winner who got dressed well for that event. Therefore, student, who was attending the English Week program, should act fairly attractive to become the winner. Another, there was an attendance of absence inside Joglo that already welcomed the participants to fulfill it.
The next day was not quite different like before. However, there was a carnival that held from T4 building into Joglo. The students made two lines and each lines represented their class or majors. Besides, the bazaar was little bit more crowded than before. There were several kinds of food, drink and accessories which were sold around Joglo, so that the students got easily to buy something as they need in that event.
In addition, Joglo was quiet different like generally. It was becoming fun and crowded all the time until in the end of the event. So that the event was successful not only because of the attractive participant, but also the creative committee that already had prepared carefully a long day before the event held.

Vintage Fashion of English Week

English department has a unique program, it is English Week which is held by HMJ of English department. English week provides several competitions. Those are storytelling, news casting, alliance quest, debate competition and speech competition. Every class should point someone as a representative from their class in each competition there. Many students participate in this program especially for freshmen because they are obligated to join it.
English Week program has different theme each year, and vintage theme was chosen for this year. Some students expressed their taste of fashion for this theme and British fashion was the icon of their fashion since 60s until 90s.

Suara Si Biru [Poem 3]

Noda hitam melumuri sebagian tubuhku
Aroma busuk nan menyengat menyeruak di riak kecilku
Betapa kotor diriku, hingga ku tak kuasa menjaga teman kecilku
Sungguh, betapa tersiksanya hidupku

Sobatku,
Ku khawatir musibah menimpamu karenaku
Meski ku tahu itu bukan kesalahanku
Betapa besar beban yang kini menimpaku
Tak bisakah beban ini kubagi bersamamu?

Sobatku,
Tahukah kau betapa indah nan elok diriku?
Beraneka ragam warna dan makhluk yang bahkan kau pun belum tahu
Sungguh, jikalau kau selamatkanku
Ku kan selamatkanmu
 Kau jaga aku,
Dan ku kan menjagamu
Tanpa kita sangka, ibu pertiwi pun menangis haru
Menatap kita bahu-membahu
Demi Indonesia Satu

(Surabaya, 14 september 2014)

“Alangkah indahnya jika kita saling menjaga kelestarian bahari demi kejayaan Indonesia Satu”

Someday (Poem 2)

Someday, I could proud of my parents
Someday, I could proud of people whom I love
Someday, I could stand in the hall of fame
