Mid-test ini tugasnya take home. Berisi beberapa soal dari novel tang harus kami baca " The Kitchen God's Wife " actually, i don't read it at all. it isn't because i'm lazy. No. It's just becausu its has many pages for about 300 to 400s pages. So iwas looking for this summary of novel and characters to get this novel well. Here, are my answers.......

1. Helen
is not really Pearl’s Aunt. She is Winnie longtime friend. They visible as a
family because they are as close as true sibling. Helen is the only person who
knows Winnie’s real story. Both Winnie and Helen are keeping each other’s
secrets. When the secrets are disclosed, they still like a family. No anger and
abhorrence between Winnie’s family and Helen’s family then.
2. Winnie
gave an empty box to Pearl that it will work to keep them apart; She wants
create a distance between them. It shows Winnie grants her own habit of keeping
secrets to her daughter’s habit. Winnie said to Pearl that it’s useful to keep her
secrets too like her anger, illness and sadness there.
3. The
female characters are the fullest characters. Besides, they are the main
characters of the novel; they had been influenced by the characters of male
figures. For example, the male characters like Wen Fu have affected Winnie’s
life. She cannot see him as anything else but a monster and it different when
Winnie seen Jimmy. Jimmy always gave her love so she seen him as an angel.
4. 4. Winnie wants to
clean her pain and bad memories by cleaning her house. It means that she wants
to forget about Wen Fu and her past, but it is difficult to do. Just like
stained in Winnie’s life and she never gets it out though she had tried hardly.
5. Winnie’s
mother vanished from the house in the morning when Winnie was six years old and
nobody knows where she is. She left the house because she abandoned her
marriage. It is an important questions too because it’s affected Winnie’s life
because of her mother behavior. So that, she has a painful memory of her mother.

The differences
: Helen’s children are health body, everything
should related to money and arrogant
(Bao-Bao), superstitious believing.
Winnie’s children are
weak body (Yiku, Danru, Pearl)and plain.
And the similarities
are both Helen and Winnie’s child are friendly and nonchalant with their
mother.
7. Phil
is Pearl’s husband while Tessa and Cleo are Pearl’s young daughters.
